America

America What's next. America?

"Democracy don't rule the world, you better get that through your head.
This world is ruled by violence, but I guess sthat's better off left unsaid." --Bob Dylan

I firmly believe that America's finest hour lies ahead, in the future.

America, you now rule the world. Your gunboats patrol every shore, your economy dominates the globe, your media fill the air, your culture shocks the world, your money buys happiness, and your presence can not be ignored. Every nerve is satisfied , every urge is gratified, your every greed is gorged.

You can dominate, subdue, bend to your will every company that moves, every wind that blows, every star that shines.

What next?

You must decide. Is it enough?

Is it enough, America, or do you still want more?

I'm no prophet, but I know what you will choose.

You will choose to go beyond.

When your stock markets crash, your armies fail, and your culture is scorned, you will find happiness.

America will rise again, rise up to the heights of the citadel, in the process benefitting the whole world. Multitudes from every race, every creed, and every clime will dispel the hour of gloom; transcend the economic catastrophe; re-invent the economy, transform the boardroom, re-ignite the fire of societal invention. America will re-bloom.

When the world soon sees her economy prostate, her markets closed, her might defied, and her wounds exposed, America will be re-born.

And every tongue shall tell of how she helped the powerless, she succored the feeble, she fed the hungry, and she housed the poor. But most of all, they will sing of her will to survive, and to thrive, and to invent the future.

Long live America!

Amen.

"They said it was the land of milk and honey,
Now they say it's the land of money.
Who'ed of ever thought,
They could make that stick?"-- Bob Dylan
