Done in by Algorithms

I am the last human poet
Shed a tear for me anon.
Better verses via algorithms
By computers will be done.

I am an epiphenomenon,
A ghost in a machine.
I laugh, I cry, I bleed, I die,
Directed by my genes.

My mind soars in the heavens
I dream in movie reels,
Roboticised, lobotimized,
But that's not how it feels.

Maybe I am controlled by my genes'
Chemical factors and physical schemes,
Nonetheless in one of my myriad dreams
I had an original and partial thought-shell,
Figment of a fragment of a novel idea
That unrighteously presumes to be
Someday just a bit more
Than it seems.
